Finding the Courage to Effectively Lead.

Finding the Courage to Effectively Lead

Challenges and struggles are part of the everyday routine for most of us. In fact, stressors seem to pile on top of each other that it becomes difficult to choose which to prioritize and face first, much more develop the courage to tackle all of them without breaking down. There are times when you feel you want to give up or even start something new, because you feel indifferent and afraid. It is this escapist mechanism that is downfall of many leaders.

Mustering the courage to weather problems and lead a team to success is, perhaps, the hardest to develop among the key characteristics of a good leader. However, one must realize that regardless whether you are in a top position or simply a follower, courage is the key attribute that will see you through every single day of your life. It sounds easier said than done; but getting out of your comfort zone, though nerve-wracking at first, is the best way for you to learn something new and become a better and stronger person.

How do we develop courage? How do we face up to those circumstances and situations that we dread?

First, you must realize and acknowledge that majority of your fears are in just in your head. Dwelling on ‘what ifs’ and ‘what could be’s’ will not only make you afraid of making a move; it will also keep you in the same position, without any improvement.

Developing courage is an inward battle — that is, it begins with yourself. Once you have resolved to set your theories of failure aside, the easier it will be for you to start taking the reins.

Courage is not the absence of fear. It deals with principle, not just perception. If you don’t have the conviction to do what it takes to achieve a certain goal for you and your team, then it’s not likely that you’ll be a hundred percent effective as a leader. Conversely, courage doesn’t mean having too much confidence in everything. It entails a calculating, but not paranoid, mind; because, after all, your team depends on you for leadership.

Thus, whenever you sense a challenge coming your way, see it as an opportunity to learn something new and make the current situation a lot better. Just because it looks difficult, it doesn’t mean it actually is. Think of it this way: when life gives you lemons, then you must make the sweetest lemonade out of them. Remember, your life expands in proportion to your courage. After all, whoever said the road to success is paved with candies and roses?

However you can be who you want to be.

Enhancing Creativity and Welcoming Change

Enhancing Creativity and Welcoming Change

Creativity is level of excellence associated with the ability to yield original works and ideas in any field. It is the power to build, produce, and construct extraordinary ideas fuelled by one’s imagination and resourcefulness. It has served a very important role in human civilization and has always been present in the heart and mind of every person. Being innate, creativity is something that only needs to be awakened to surface.

Learning how to defeat the hurdles that block creativity is not a tough thing to do. There are pretty basic ways to be more creative. But before you start racking your brain, first identify the barriers that you might meet along the way, so you can somehow be prepared for them.

Knowing the Potential Hurdles

Identifying the obstacles will make the task a lot easier to handle. While there are some of us whose creativity is easy to stir, there are those who needed a deeper prodding. Some of these obstacles include the inadequacy of time, the fear of prejudice, a lack of self-esteem, and fear of failure.

Dealing with time is not actually a big problem. Tickling your imagination to work only takes a while if you will it. The fear of tendentiousness is more considered to be normal. A little confidence and a sense of self-worth answers this problem.

In doing something creative, go beyond the rim of all the things that have always been familiar to you. Muster up the courage to get out of your comfort zone for a while. When you feel uncomfortable with what you just did, just continue doing it. A little tension in unfamiliar territory is normal, and, often, it is this very nervousness that will push your creative juices into action. Welcome change from time to time.

Remember that creativity is not only for people with superior intellect. The need to be an expert is not necessary. The products of your creativity may display themselves in many ways and might not always be tangible. If doubt comes and hinders your ability to be creative, remind yourself everything that you have been doing is a part of your imagination and a part of you.

Once you have already dealt with these issues, you may now start to try some ways to definitely enhance your creativity.

Bringing In Some Backup

There are many interventions you can adopt. Begin with the right frame of mind. Probe into the field you’re interested in and explore everything that triggers your imagination. The next thing you need to do is to nourish your dreams. Focus on your experiences and do not dismiss the small details. Don’t waste what you may already been discovering by ignoring it. Ask yourself the following questions: “What if?”, “What else?” and “How else?”

Remember that being creative is like dreaming consciously. Through it, you are able to manipulate your thoughts.

The secret to creativity is the knowledge that it is exactly the opposite of consideration. Considering our thoughts means creativity is trimmed and even stopped. Do not limit your ideas and remember that thinking is not just for artistic and writing professions, and for people who are highly-intellectual — it is for everybody and anybody.

Authentic creativity does not exist. No individual can create life. All we do is to remake and rearrange things around us. If you want enhance your creativity, do not wait for an inspiration and start exploring. Creativity is not all about creation; it’s all about reorganization. Think ingeniously, brainstorm, and try to practice tickling your imagination.

You are in charge of your life…remember that!

Dreams: What Are They?

Dreams: What Are They?

Dreams are basically successions of mental images during sleep; they appear involuntarily to the mind while you are sleeping. Dreams are often combinations of real and imaginary characters, places, or events, and trying to go further into what dreams really mean prompts you to enter into the mysterious yet fascinating world where the rules of reality are not applicable.

So What Are Dreams?

Dreams are unique — no one can distinguish a clear description of the background, the emotions involved, or the experiences that happen in them. Apparently, dreams are somehow connected with your own physical world. It has the ability to unify the body, the mind, and the spirit, and takes you to another level by providing you a quick insight into your self and your ways of self-exploration. When you interpret your dream, you are led to a new discovery and a better understanding of what your true self really is.

Dreams Further Explained

Dreams are divided into two different categories that run alternately in a span of ninety minutes. About twenty-five percent of sleep is spent in an REM state or Rapid Eye Movement, and the remaining seventy-five percent is for the non-rapid eye movement.

The Non-REM state has four stages. The first is called light sleep. This is the state where your body is half asleep and half awake. The next state is when you start sleeping already and the conscious mind starts to disengage itself from its surroundings. Your heart and breathing rates begin a rhythmic pattern and the body’s temperature drops a bit.

Both Stages 3 and 4 are the where you are at your most restful state of sleep. At these stages, your blood pressure starts to drop and your breathing begins to slow down. Your muscles will then relax, followed by tissue growth and repair. Hormones are released once the energy is stored.

Dreams, accordingly, are the reactions of the brain to various biological processes that happen in your sleep. They help you regain total control over your past pains. Dreaming of your past experiences will help you heal any imbalances in your life and eventually lead you to options on the directions that you can take.

To have a healthy body and mind, dreaming is very important. People who are deprived of REM sleep consequently suffer from difficulties in concentrating, which then lead them to become more irritable and ill-tempered.

Learning how to interpret your dreams is helpful in keeping up with the stressors around you. Although dreams are merely a representation of either a reality or a fantasy, the insights you gain from them are powerful enough to aid you in leading a fruitful life while awake.

Terrific Tips to a Better Brain.

Terrific Tips to a Better Brain

Do you ever stop to think how hard your brain works for you every Day? Most of us do not consider the importance of our brain while we focus on the rest of our body. Your brain is the most essential organ and yet it is the organ least cared for. You need not study hard or become a bookworm to boost your mental faculties. Just a few smart tricks, techniques, habits, changes in diet, lifestyle and behavior could energize your grey matter and get the best results from your brain.

Here are a few tips to tend proper care for your brain:

1. Physical exercise strengthens your brain, too. Exercise benefits your brain cells. The blood vessels inside your brain dilate and increase blood flow when you engage in regular exercise. Exercise helps to excrete toxins and allows oxygen and other nutrients to flow into your brain strengthening your brain cells.

2. Start your day with a healthy breakfast. Skipping breakfast affects your brainpower and performance at home, school or work.

3. Kick-start your brain in the morning so that it wakes up and is all ready when you start your morning. Why don’t you start off your day with a crossword puzzle or sudoku from your morning newspaper? Your brain needs these teasers to be more efficient during the fist few lazy hours in the mornings.

4. Research backs up the support in favor of omega-3 fatty acids. Fish is the best brain food. Omega 3 fish oil is not just healthy brain food for babies. It’s also an essential brain food for children, adolescents and adults. The EPA and DHA in fish oil seems prevent dementia.

5. Here is a trick to remember something important for the next day – read and review over the matter needed for the next day before you go to sleep the previous night. While you sleep your brain does its sorting and filing for you and stores it for you. When you think about it the next day your brain supplies this information fresh out of its memory cells.

6. Did you ever get stuck with a small detail when your brain just stops and you experience a mental block? Try darting your eyes from side to side. You would be amazed at the results! What is the reason behind this? Everyone has a left and right hemisphere in the brain. They communicate constantly on a daily basis throughout your thinking process. Sometimes when this communication link or connection gets weaker for some reason you may experience a memory lapse. Darting your eyes helps to strengthen this connection to jerk your memory and bring back into focus that little detail you had forgotten all along. All it takes is 5 to 10 seconds to jolt your brain. Try it.

7. Good sleep, music, busy life and plenty of water are also factors that help in building your brainpower.

It is possible to boost your brainpower at any age. Try these strategies and you would start praising your brainpower in as little as two weeks!

Easy Ways to Overcome Problems

Easy Ways to Overcome Problems

Problems are present in everyone’s daily life. Life is filled with never-ending problems. We all experience problems at work, home, with relationships, children, society, etc. They just creep up everywhere in every area of our life. When problems overshadow you, you are affected by physical and mental illness. Problems seem to be one common factor that pervades each and every soul on planet earth. Could we look at problems in a positive way and overcome them easily? We could.

Problems are only problems if we define them so. You could look at problems in a different light. Whenever you encounter a problem in future, try to look at it indifferently. If you analyze your problems they may turn out to be learning events in real life. Problems are solvable.

Here are 7 easy ways to overcome problems:

Own a problem – People generally blame others when they are faced with problems. Problems never go away with this approach. Instead, accept responsibility for the problem. Do not blame anyone else or any other circumstance for your problem. When you own a problem, you take up the issue in your hand and start to work for a solution with a personal interest. This is the first sign of progress towards a solution.

Define the problem – You have to define a problem in order to understand the exact issue. Analyze it to understand it well.

Ask the right questions - what is the problem, how did it start, how bad is the effect, etc. When you look into the problem rather than at the problem, you get to the core of the problem. Getting at the root cause would eradicate the problem forever. So define and look for ways to eradicate the root cause of your problem.

Analyze the ‘ifs’ and ‘but’s - Ask more questions such as: ‘what if the problem is not solved immediately? What is the worst outcome? ‘But, if not solved, how long could you go on with this problem?’ etc. Be prepared to face risks and proceed to accept the worst. After good brainstorming, you would feel calm since you are ready to face the consequences.

List possible solutions – When you are calm look around for possible solutions. Make a list of all possible answers. Again brainstorm. You could examine and evaluate all possible solutions. You would be surprised at the possible answers you have at hand for your problem.

Select the best solution - After examining and evaluating and brainstorming, you would be able choose the best possible solution. Once you decide on a particular solution take steps to act on it immediately.

Focus only the end results – Focus only on what you desire to achieve. According to the law of universe, your thoughts, feelings, intentions and actions create your reality. If these were clear, your problems would also clear out into thin air.

So remember, whenever you have a problem – own it, define it, analyze the ‘if’s and ‘but’s, list your solutions, brainstorm and select the best one, act on it immediately and focus on positive results. It is that simple!

Remember live your life bt Choice, not by Chance.
